Thumbs up More alive cities/towns?

In cantha we saw more living breathing towns and cities, than we had previously in Tyria.

I hate how the game doesn't make the towns more alive, people actually hammering away at making swords, instead of standing there, not blinking, like drones.

I love the guards in Lions Arch, they actually walk around and do their job.

Personally, I'm hoping for a more living breathing towns, where the ships actually sail away eventually, and you can actually (Oh man...so hard to impliment) WALK into stores and shops, instead of everything being outside.

What happens when it rains?

I think this alone could sell more copies of Nightfall, a more real world.

Considering the north Africa theme, I think an open air bazaar would actually make sense here.

i read an interview that states that ANet has decided to bring the gameworld alive even more in upcoming chapters... and yes, while people have some complaints about this and that in Factions... I think the best part of it was how 'complete' of a big city it felt like... some parts of explorable areas were mostly peaceful.. or at least certain routes.. and other 'bad' parts of towns were overrun by thugs and diseased ppl.

Kudos to breathing worlds.

EDIT>
Not necessarily 'walk-in shops' but more along the lines of friendly NPCs that actually have pathing AI or whatever its called, in the outside-town areas.

This would be really cool. Although, I would like it to be more of a -just walk into a building without zoning-type of thing, get my drift?

Well the in-game cinematic by ANet seems to show a more alive world, of course bringing the world alive has to be done over all chapters to keep world coherence somehow

It would work for me if they just showed more homes. Now Cantha doesnt have it, but if you look at the Luxon and Kurzick sides. They have been at war for like 200 years and own massive parts of the land.
So where do they live? The should he thousands of Kurzicks, where are their homes? You dont really have towns, just outposts.

Anyway, its a nice idea, would add to the game, even if its just a moving ship in the back ground while at a port city.

Don't even start with that. I can go downtown and walk into a shop in real-life. Does that mean that real-life is trying to be like WoW? I think not.

Well i'm not sure if these would be considered homes but while exploring kurzick lands I did see areas with lit up tree house type of structures. I can only assume that in the world of GW somebody or some people lived there. As for the jade sea though I don't know.

Thats exactly what I thought when I saw the vid, but then again, gaile said they hadn't even thought about Auction House. Considering the game is about 2 months from release, if they worked hard, they might be able to get some sort of auction house bazarr/store place and update the game asap. But I seriously DOUBT they would be this nice....

when I said bazaar I basically just meant all the merchant npc's close in one area basically like in Lion's Arch rather than being inside any building but errrr..... yeah

OMFG I went fishing!
...and I cook!
...and I use first-aid on my cuts!

Holy shit, WoW IS my life!!!

Anyway...

Yes, it'd be nice if they implemented more "living" towns, even if it was, as someone mentioned, a few guard npcs walking around. Although I like the idea of seeing more homes, I try to imagine the locals are living in parts of the map we can't access

I like how in Kurzick/Luxon towns there is the little battle between Luxon and Kurzick soldiers. There should be more little things like that.

Making everything less static would help a lot.

Maybe even give the NPC's in town stuff to say like the henchmen do, be it either silly stuff or inform you of background info.

In the Jade Sea I have noticed some "structures" on the big turtles. Luxons are strange , makes it easier to move to a different area thought...

I would definately want a night/day cycle, as well as rain once in a while. Neither is hard to impliment, and they already have rain in certain areas of the game, now we just need it everywhere, in cycles.
